Curriculum

The fellowship sessions are built upon three pillars, each of which uniquely contributes to the participant’s leadership as a woman of faith.
Training occurs on a bi-weekly basis in discussions with experienced faculty and consultants.
  • Identity Exploration as a Pathway to Resilient Leadership

Identity awareness is vital to building resilience as women of faith. A sense of self that addresses ultimate questions about life's nature, purpose, and meaning is shaped in many ways. Understanding the values and scriptures of one’s faith tradition inspires the way one leads. Awareness of the ways in which religious freedom impacts women from around the world supports their resiliency.

Fellows explore their identity through a faith lens to better understand who they are and how to remain resilient in times of hardship.

  • Skill-building for Global Leadership Advancement

Skill sets are shaped by both formal and informal training. Appreciating and fostering the gifts and aptitudes that the Divine has given is part of a woman of faith’s journey as she strives to lead. Understanding each one’s unique skills allows them to be influential and lead authentically.

The skill-building sessions cover topics that are relevant to leaders in today’s world, including negotiation, social media, thought leadership, and grant writing.

  • Holistic Self-care for Sustainable Leadership

Perceptions of self-care are formed in many ways––some positive and some negative. However, self-care is vital for sustainable leadership. Taking care of one's well-being, especially when under tension, stress, or pain, allows one to carry the work even further.

Fellows explore self-care concepts, including mindfulness, art therapy, meditation, and the importance of mental health.

Testimonials

  • ”I started to realize that having a woman’s voice and being a spokesperson in a woman’s way is valuable. I don’t have to have a man’s voice.”

  • ” I am more aware of the importance of being a leader for my church and the world.”

  • “I became more conscious about my worth, expertise, capacity to make a change in my community. When I discover on the other side of the world- there exist other women like me. I felt as though I was not alone. I am surrounded by women of faith who are fighting for different causes. Just knowing you are not alone, it means a lot to me. …it gives me a support to perform better in my work and learn more about my leadership, increase my skills, and be more brave in my personal path. That is the difference between the before and after. Being a part of something huge can help you to continue to believe and you are the change in your community."

  • “…helped me grow as a woman-of-faith by expanding my perception of different faiths and how women-of-faith experience their faith in similar and different ways.”

  • “The resources, speakers, topics, and meeting with the other participants make for a well-balanced program. Consequently, I have grown a lot as a leader and woman of faith.”

  • “I appreciate the organizers in a special way for allowing me to participate on the programmes. The topics were well selected. The learnings l would like to share with my community are: 1) the importance of planning in leadership. 2) the need for active listening as a leader and 3) the importance of self-care. All the above points are helping me to do better in my leadership role. The entire CWFL team’s spirit of patience is worth emulating. Thanks for your sharing and love. It is well appreciated. God bless you all.”
